CHIP MARTIN
Miles is the main character. He has transferred to Culver Creeks Boarding School for his junoir year where he encounters love, friendship,anger, and loss. Miles starts of as shy and friendless character, then shifts to a rebel child, making him a dynamic character. One continuous trait about Miles that continues through out the book is his love for knowing peoples last words. It's important to know that Miles is easily influenced, which adds to the dramatic aspect of the book.
ALASKA YOUNG
MILES HALTER or "PUDGE"
Chip is the first person Miles meets. Chip is a smart rebellious teenage boy. Chip becomes Miles first friend and end up to be closer than they think through Alaska's death. Despite the fact that Chip lives in a trailer, he is grateful for everything that comes his way. Chip stays the same the personality wise the whole book making him a flat character.
Lara is a Russian girl who ends up being Miles first girlfriend. Takumi is Alaska and Chips best friend, soon to be Miles. Lara and Takumi are flat suppoting characters.
LARA & TAKUMI
Alaska Young is an 'extreamly beautiful', as descibed in the book, tomboy. Alaska's personality is mysterious. She comes off as a strong, hard to break girl. In reality, Alaska has gone through a lot which inflicts on her emotional fits. Alaska is a precal genius who is moody, and, possibly, suicidal. Alaska keeps her personality throughout the book leaving her to be a flat character.
